Haptic Schnaptic from Katerina Nikoltsou, Ελληνική Δημοκρατία--A dash of Sandpo to Warm up me Lovely Old Bones

De Villo aptly identified Katerina's one-woman art movement as "Sandpo", and I cherish it, in particular because I am a Haptic Poetry member. These warm colors of orange and red are a treat for me today. More than a treat, actually. I'm talking major DESSERT here. St. Paul got another dumping of snow and as usual, the lot of us are walking around stiff and lopsided from the shoveling . I've even noticed that one neighbor who normally leans to the right (politically) is now actually leaning toward the left, that's how much snow we got. There's a peacefulness to Katerina's mail art and I like that. Maybe I should look at winter that way, too. There's less traffic, the new snow is still white, and people fall into even friendlier dispositions. Before long the lawn mowers will snorting around in the back yards, alley cats will be screaming in heat, kids will be hanging out bus windows, cheering over the last days of school, and motorcycles will be testing local noise ordinances. Yeah, maybe I should enjoy this soft quiet while it's here. Think I will. Thanks, Katerina.

Thank you dear sandpo-enthusiast friends. I have to take time to search all the blogs and groups today...me slipping behind. Thank you all for the encouraging comments, and Bifidus, thanks for this fine blog. And also thanks to Top Psychic Marie who first saw the monkey sandpo-thief a comin'! Would that I could do "larger sandpo"...but you have not seen my studio space. Thus I am still in the "miniature"- "minimal" size.

We shall wait , like Bifidus, for beautiful summer (and lucky Cheryl is there now!) and then I can spread out under the olive tree, or at the beach (direct source of SAND!) and work LARGE! (but how to mail such sizes???)

All in due time...sandpo is here to stay and move forward!...(going to check out the "Manifesto"!)

Katerina - you're the SandQueen :-) So weird that while you all freeze we melt.

Excellent blog to frame a beautiful piece by Katerina. Really nice one Bifidus. By now you know we have a Sandpo Manifesto posted in the haptic group, so that can provide the context and I'm just going to enjoy the blog trying not to think too much. Many thanks.
