Now that we have the new messaging system I don't get a notification when someone comments on my post. Is there something I should be doing that I've overlooked?

After you post, go to the post and scroll down to the "subscribe to comments" link. You can subscribe to comments on any post, even if you don't comment on that post.

Okay, so how do I rotate an image on our blog? I was able to rotate it on my IUOMA blog photos, but after I posted it on our blog. hmmm. Maybe not possible. I await your technical wisdom.

I think that once they are up you can't rotate them on the blog Mim. I've been blogging for nigh on 10 years and haven't been able to figure it out

Nigh on 10 years!? Holy cow! I think I got started about 5 years ago. A newbie! ha ha ha. Maybe too large of an image.  Somehow the only other place I've had the problem with direction is Etsy but when I make the images smaller, crop them, it works. Whatever. I accept the parameters of the programs/platforms and am so grateful that this all works anyway. I really like it!

Hey guys, (stupid) question but I'm wondering why my images don't pop up in the small box for the recent posts? Only the text shows in the small boxes where as some other people can get their images to show. Just wondering what I need to do for the images to appear! Thanks!

My images never show up in the bigger boxes either Mary England. Just my captions. It's a mystery. My images pop up in the grid however.

Mary, I use the same format that Naomi described and my pictures do appear in the small box. I think it is nice to be able to see the picture of someone's post. I hope it works for you.

HI Mary - I've answered this a few times. I've no idea why this is, but blogger doesn't make templates that display thumbnails in this way, and it's very difficult to do this. The template we are using is actually a modified Wordpress template and, even in wordpress, apparently it doesn't show a thumbnail in the way you would think.

 

I know that the pics don't always display and have played around with it in every which way to no avail. It seems almost random why it displays some peoples pics an doesn't display others on the front page. In response, I added an extra set of thumbnails at the bottom to give people 2 options to navigate. In addition, the mobile version does generate thumbnails every time, which is all very nice.

 

I've got a very good and highly technically competent friend working on it at the moment, but in the meantime, look at it as a design bonus instead - it gives you a nice mixture of text and pictures!

Ah! I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had already been asked this. But it's not a big deal, I was just wondering if I was doing something wrong. No problem, doesn't matter too much especially if it's beyond your control! Thanks for answering so timely. <3

Have you seen the site today? We've rolled out the new thumbs as requested! Front page only at the moment but I'm very pleased with it
