Hi Mary Anne! i would like to invite you to a new mail art project 

Open Call  dedicated to GENDER DIFFERENCE

The gallery VISIONI ALTRE in Venice  in collaboration with the collettive AE in Rome, invites artists to reflect on the theme contestualizing it in their socio-geographical framework.
The topics are: WOMAN’S RIGHTS AND THE LGBTQ+ COMUNUITY

This call is in collaboration also with Guenda Mai a grad student at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. All the works recived by the artist will rapresent an important sourse for her  thesis paper.

It’s possible to send, signed and completed with technique and title:
Collages, Photografs, Postcards, Objects and Art’s book and so on without any limitation on the use of techniques and medium, but all the works must be in small or medium size.

All the material will be exhibited at the Visioni Altre gallery in Venice from 15 to 30 January 2021, and then will be kept in the archive of Visioni Altre for future events.

Hi Mary Anne. Thank you for the welcome! Although I've only been making mail art for the last couple years, I've been interested in collage for decades. Hannah H is a BIG inspiration.

I almost never use collages, if anything I use it digitally, but I liked to pay homage to a brave artist like Hannah, and not yet fully understood what I have to do in the group to her

Hi MAry Ann, thanks for writing so witty and nicely! ( my adjectives are not so many!) When your envelope arrived I was quite absorbed by your wonderful creation of the blue-white-black lettering, so now I hurried and took a straight look and discovered Monty Python! I am really a fan of the ministry of silly walks and the sketch with the parrot and... and..

You are right: I feel like a very happy bunny! (even when our heating is gone and a new one is not to be seen. we live in an apartment in an old high house; the water is only handwarm, but the temperatures outside are rather cold! But I still can have a hot water bottle!)

Hi Mary Ann, your idea of making a booklet out of the envelopes is real convincing ! I had thought of something like that, but my box turns out to be rather big, so that there is a lot of space also for the envelopes, otherwise it would look a bit deserted.

Hi Mary Anne.

I think I have misunderstood what the “birthday box” is.  I wanted to send only one item for the box, not create/send one to each person who is also participating.  Can you help me understand the project better?  I normally do 1:1 exchanges, so it’s very likely I’m not quite with the program.  Thanks, and remind me again what the deadline is.

Another reason I’m confused is I saw Maria in Athens say she was receiving some pieces, then I saw Kat was too - then I got a list from Cascadia Artpost of participants so far - with addresses.  I don’t do multiples using a printer at the moment, so not set up for that.......

Can you please explain?  Sorry to be such a Neanderthal.  Debra

Hi Mary Ann, I take the address above given by you and hope that everything is o.k? And I love your collage by Kurt! Did you know that Göttingen is quite near Hannover, where he lived and you have his famous MERZ- building there in the museum!
