Dear Diane,
Leaving another mail-artist to cover the cost of your postage is not unusual. I know you understand I was only playing the best card I had in a pathetically weak hand.

To business: I have developed a synthetic roadkill that can be used in mail-art. It is surprisingly realistic and will offend no one on moral or ethical grounds. You know I had a deep personal crisis on this subject. I am sending you the first piece I have ever created using synthetic roadkill. So I feel like I can participate now that the issues has been resolved.

Just wanted to give you an update - DVS

Great - back in Nevermind land and in the wrong discussion stream to boot. I have taken an oath not to delete. Be reasonable, Diane.
DeVillo, How amazing that you have come up with this solution-but does the synthetic roadkill come with synthetic flies? Realism is so important with these things. It has been weighing heavily upon me as well. so much so that I missed a sale at the mall. But you have really brought it home for me how there is a solution to every problem and compromises can always be made...I will not delete you--consider it an early xmas present. I will be sending you some mail art-postage due of course. Actually can you send me some postage back as well?
Dear Diane, thank you for being willing to communicate with me. Sorry, no flies. But using synthetic materials I do have something that resembles roadkill closely. I thought about patenting it or something because this could catch on. You know - it occurs to me - Bifidus has this haptic poetry thing. And this synthetic roadkill is definitely textural. You can touch it, and I doubt you'll get sick. I can kill 2 stones with 1 bird here and send him some and call it haptic poetry, yeah. Did you consider this? I bet you're way ahead of me. I just said I'd send some to Angie for Snooker the Amazing Mail-Art Dog, but now I'm thinking if Snooker goes after this - it's like an animal pelt but really chewed up, right? - it's not meant to be eaten anyway. I can't be responsible if any person or animal attempts to ingest this - needs a disclaimer attached?. With haptic poetry, there's a chance to turn your roadkill into high art. Opportunity knocks, Diane Keys, yes it does.
