Hope you are doing fine. I couldn't join you as no place yet found to arrange an art workshop. My friend Georgia Grigoriadou is busy with her pre-occupations and agendas. Can you plz check your schedules of June 2010? I will be back to you soon. Drop some lines in email or here.

Yes, I'm very pleased to have Kris join us! She's been lurking over my shoulder for awhile, thinking she might not have time to answer all the mail art she'll be getting, and finally decided that she can work/play at her own pace. Glad she took the plunge! See you in the mail...

OK, first difference was I used 'au bain marie' to melt everythin before mixing in the crispies.
I did think about wetting the spoon and will try that next time I make this particular recipe.
I am not sure if the sheep farm has a microwave!
Yes I of course have tasted the product and was most pleasantly surprised, they are really delicious and.... crispy... which I doubt the real thing is.
I also took them to my gallerist and to the opening of an audio installation over the weekend, the gallerist suggested he was going to frame the cakes, the folks at the opening seemed just a tad suspicious, I fear they thought I might have dropped LSD of hash into the recipe... I didn't though now I come to think of it....
I'll keep you informed of progress

First experiment with sheep-shit cakes is a tasty success though it was difficult to get the tacky stuff from the spoon into the paper cups and they are not as dark brown as the real thing. I will keep experimenting
I also discovered there are English tablespoons and American table spoons and they aint the same! Trying to get it together with metric weights to east the confusion.
hugs

Hi Katerina,
Hey, thanks for the great card - I just got another one today! Thanks again!
About the MA show: The Gallery that is hosting the Heebee Jeebeeland / 4th Dimension show was supposed to have been May 20th, but the Gallery downtown is relocating across the street into another building and the schedule is being pushed to June 20th instead. That's okay, but now I am finding out it may even be another month or so away (they have to redo the plumbing in the building thats being restored - another delay)! So I will probably change that date as well - I don't know yet - we shall see. This is starting to get into my Summer plans (going to California to see my ancient parents). So I am not really happy about this new news! I give more details later as I find out.
Happy Mail my friend, Test

The packet of mini-mms is 180 grammes. I'm busy all day tomorrow so I will try out the recipe on Saturday. Thanks Kate.
I was thinking as the recipe is American weights probably don't need to be that accurate!~)

My Greek friend has just come back to Maastricht and she is feeling the cold. We had a long talk yesterday about the 'situation' in Greece so she has brought me up to speed. Let me know if you need a food parcel! It is rumoured our value added tax is going to go up to 21% to help pay for the poor Southeners... we want some of your sunshine in return please.

Kate, I have a problem with the recipe!
I mananged to find mini-marshmallows in one of the many local super markets here (don't know about Iceland but am pretty confident), I went to try out the recipe but ran into these problems
1. it states 10 oz marshmallows, is that American oz, British oz and what is that in European weight?
2. when should the marshmallows be added, I guess at the end with the rice crispies?

3.cups come in various sizes, what is the content of a cup?
4. would it be OK to use choco rice crispies?

thanks for a quick answer if you can... life/art is a little pressured at the moment

Hi Katerina, To answer the question you asked a few weeks ago, sorry I am not the Jennifer Jones from Chicago. I am cursed/blessed with a very common name. I have been to Chicago and loved it but I am from Portland, Oregon and now living in Australia. I was just reading the discussion on etiquette and I loved what you said about making and sending art for the love of it . Very good. Thank you.
