Background:
The Museum of Photocopying is dedicated to the history and diverse techniques of photocopying. Through creative experiments, artistic intentions and unexpected “accidents”, they transformed the photocopier into a medium of art and a tool for democratized publications such as zines, pamphlets and leaflets.
We invite artists, designers, photographers and all interested parties to redefine the concept of the portrait in the context of scanner art. Possible approaches are:
Self-portraits:
Identity through the lens of the scanner.
Portraits of others: diversity of human faces and characters.
Abstract portraits: experiment with shapes, colors and textures.
Concepts of identity: changing concepts of identity
Techniques and experimentation:
- expand the possibilities of the scanner to create new forms of visual expression.
- we offer workshops with our historical copy machines, two of which are within the famed dedicated toner Minolta EP series
Technical requirements:
One work with one person
Format: DIN A4, DIN A3, minimum 150 dpi,
Technique: Copyart & Scanner works (any form of scan-based art)
Work may be made in the Open Copy Workshops, Thursdays 4-7 pm but upload them here
