George Pake (April 1, 1924 – March 4, 2004) was a physicist and research executive primarily known for helping found Xerox PARC. Pake earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Carnegie Institute of Technology and his doctorate in physics at Harvard University in 1948.

A rather serious case of scoliosis kept Pake out of the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II.

Dear Katerina I wish you lots of happiness and joy today and for ever.

I didn't know the pic was to be this big, I did it in my phone, which is tiny so, naturally, I thought...silly  me.

thanks katerina. the news is troubling because they don't give you much sense of where things happened. most of the serious damage seems to be outside the city center. i haven't felt any aftershocks since the few we had right after the earthquake.

Thanks for thinking of me.  I'm in bed today with what I think is Strep throat.  Some Birthday!  Hope you are well.

Hi Katerina,  thanks yr help.  I found Dorina's page - it says indeed Hechingen Germany, but the mail came back saying "unknown at this address".  I sent Dorina a message on her page too.  Hopefully this will help more.  Thanks very much.  At the same time I'd like to thank you for your contribution to Lynn's and my project (horses and unicorns - masks).  I wanted to write you in Greek (my daughter in law follows Greek language 3rd year) but it takes too long for her to translate my notes.  Do you have a running project for the moment ?  Artfully, Chrystobal
