The post office was open today.  So the previous installment of Helgisaga is on it's way to you.  As I was posting it I realized there is an even earlier 'talking-book' / audio story CD, of the three stories which introduce the listener to why Fallowfield is travelling with the Watchers, the CD is titled 'The Fallowfield Dilemma' and was first published on cassette in 1978.  As soon as you tell me the new package has arrived I will send you the CD.

I have some Vangelis music... somewhere.  Did the Tomita Debussy horrify you?

I was for some months abroad and saw the messages about the 26 project here in an Internetcafé. In two days I will return home and will be in my Atelier and I am looking foreward to see the pile of letters awaiting me. I will respond with my contribution as soon as possible. I saw you sent me a painted eye. I am very excited to see this. www (with warm wishes) - Litsa Spathi

In the beginning was the closest to nothing that there has been so far... it's going to be a while until that state is acheived again.

We have received one piece from you for the Mail2Maastricht event, I guess it would be titled Deep Trees.  but that is the sole Cheryl that has reached this fair city.  Now you have made me nervous, After more than 40 years in mail-art I am aware of just how much gets lost, broken, stolen or strays.  The fabulous work that you sent me the photo of had better arrive because I want it!

Ah why sheep, not a dumb question.  I occupy my mind with considerations of time, space and perception and that is reflected my writing, mostly because it is possible to weave impossibilities with words.  Every year I spend a month in Iceland and of the month at least one week is spent with my friends who are sheep farmers in the most remote area of Iceland on Langaness in the N.E. of the island.  The farm is 16 Ks from the nearest village Thorshöfn and a six hour Landrover ride over rough mountain roads to the nearest town.  Strangely enough they have a daily flight from that town (Akureyri) to an airstrip only 14 Ks from the farm, so, after hanging out with my Viking friends in the south for a while, I hop a flight to the north and then spend my days watching birds on the coast of the Artic Ocean and being in sublime solitude.  The Farmer Sverrir and his wife Mirjam have four children, theirs is a strange reality but also a beautiful one.  So when I started to plot out Helgisaga II I decided to include their annual cycle of;  sheep in the barn, sheep out into the mountains, sheep collected and back into the barn.  I recorded Sverrir and Mirjam inside the sheep barn, it is possible to hear the orphan lambs in the background.

I go up to the farm again in July when I will start writing the third part of the Helgisaga trilogy.

I thought maybe you were away at the beach on your sunny, summer days? Here we are freezing, strange weather for Greece...Spring will come soon! (I keep telling myself) Just two or three 26ers not accounted for yet...hope they make contact soon.

My windmills should be arriving this week...yours was first to go on Feb 25...but you may have to go to the post office and pay extra postage? I may not have put 30 cents extra for "bulk"  ;-(  Hoping you still get it!

Ah, well.... what?  Ah.... good... fine, yes if you like, no if necessary.

A new package of audio is en-enveloped and sits propped between the plakband dispenser and the left hand side loud-speaker attached to my laptop and that package has YOUR name upon it.  BUT, a virulent case of carnival has broken out here in Limburg so I cannot hand yon package over to the lady behind the post-office desk before Wednesday at the earliest... patience will make it all sound the finer.

By the time I had remembered the answer I had forgotten what  the question was.  It might have been something to do with porridge.

Wow that work is nothing less than SPECTACULAR Cheryl,  hope it survives the postman's automation that was supposed to speed things up... just a minute I nearly choked laughing !~)

As, potentially, the only person who has listened all the way through to Helgisaga II I think you deserve/have earned the first installment, which, inventively enough, is called Helgisaga.  I'll get that together and tell you when I've sent it tussock hopping.
