Gorgeous!!! Your quilted piece arrived and I am confuzzled how you area creating these beauties. How are you able to melt all the plastic together? I tried something like that once and got nowhere. I absolutely love the texture of these and the backside with the printed velum is stunning. Only thing is I couldn't read the note you'd written to me and I so wanted to. Thank you R!!
Pretty in Pink? Remember that in every text is the deconstructive thread. Find the thread, pull it, and the illusion of the text will collapse like a house of cards.
I'm glad that the card arrived, but it looks like the postal service's automated machinery gouged it--oh well--Watch for another mail art work from me. It will be in an envelope this time.
thanks a million! I checked out your blog as usual. We had a three hundred year old tree fall a week ago. You would think it would be protected. Alas it wasn't. I've got something else planned for you. Don't worry it isn't a tree.
Hi Rebecca--Mail art memories are headed your way!
It sounds like you left the Palo Alto area about the same time that I arrived. There have been so many changes during the past 30 years--it seems that landmarks disappear every day. BTW: your area looks very bucolic--what is grown in the fields/orchards?
It dosen't matter whether you use your card or mine, I just thought it maybe a bit easier to organize things if they were all the same size. Do what thou wilt is cool with me.
Going through recent mail art, Rebecca, I find 2 postcards from you, both wonderful, each very different from the other. The one from February was a mystery card, I thought--finally found your name only today! Thank you kindly for both. The quilting is beautiful and special. How you did it is beyond me.
Rebecca, you wrote two beautiful blog posts and a great message to me, and I thank you so much. Thoughtful thoughts! You made my day at least twice with those. The first memories exhibit looks wonderful--love how you arranged them on the window. Inspiring some thoughts here ...
LOL-can't wait to see pics of your plastic trashbook. I tried the ironing plastic bag thing and it failed miserably. I have a friend that made an entire purse that way (I guess it was a murse because it was a man)complete with shoulder strap and everything. Your trashquilt is not naive whatsoever. It is fabulous!! I have always tended to make stuff, then deconstruct it, then reconstruct it. If I screw with it long enough it sometimes comes out good. Not always, but it's fun in the process.
Rebecca--your trashpo quilt arrived and it is fantastic! I love you've stitched it and made the trash truly beautiful. I will blog it soon for all to see. I've had an envelope here ready to send to you once I can decide WHAT to send. This gives me an idea now:)

Got your entry for the summer zine. Thanks so much!
Fleeing the country? I would if I were you, now that Dark wall has taken a stand against the British Minister of Schools:

Rebecca, OMG that school photo you posted is so telling.
