Very few Indians read the BBC Hindi Channel

Above is the most recent article on Sharmila. It's very rare for anyone writing about her actually to meet her.
And below some pictures. I remain grateful to those who send her mail art. If you drop me your address I will try to send you something which if you are really talented you could turn into dadaist art possibly.

But she says things like the lack of human company has hit her the hardest over the past 13 years. You'd be surprised or not how many people comment this is a joke she is being fed with a tube so is the best fed Indian in the world. What's the big deal. People mock also that she has so many cuddly toys as if she were frozen in time. No shit sherlock, she says when talking of the stuffed toys and books these lifeless things have become my friends. But she talks about politics too. In the past voting didn't seem to matter but now she would like to have cast a vote, and what for so she can marry and live a life without a grand aim. But there is a power to story that no one reads also. I no longer correct stupid throwaway lines attacking her partly because there are so few and what's the point. I remember one tweet saying look she is supporting AAP (the new anti-corruption party in India) she is a terrorist lock her up. So I responded they have it was the day of her re-arrest. The guy apologized it's just a tweet. People write rubbish in tweets. So these days. I try to stick with people who might care. Thanks for contacting her. I hope she writes back. Just think she is a shy person and has to frame things in a foreign language to write. I don't think I'd want to do it. And I like writing and talking otherwise. Take care now. If you remember her in a few months don't forget her.
Hey there PP
That's the thing. The people who can read Hindi who have all the power in India know very little about her. The people who might care if they understood what was going on can't read Hindi and have no power in India. I think it's the best expression in art of her and her satyagraha.
