John Tingey from Newbury is puzzling

John, from Newbury, sent this vintage view of Newbury in England:

and a with "puzzle" piece backing, 'tis great fun:

John Tingey wrote that famous book:

"The Englishman Who Posted Himself and Other Curious Objects"

about W. Reginald Bray ( Britain's 19th century Ray Johnson)

a few stamps on John's envelope :-)

I knew of the book and the author, but did not know that Tingey was from Newbury.

'Tis a fine town, Newbury, just outside of London , in Berkshire, on the way to Bath and the Stonehenge,

I know, 'cause I've been there, stayed there, done that...with an invited visit to Highclere Castle, even:
