Mail Art from Switzerland. Thanks to Ifé Niklaus!
Ifé wrote her little letter on a piece of paper, the back side of which is decorated with a collage of stamps in random order. On the envelope is a print and... an image of Solzhenitsyn wearing "Helvetian" glasses. A small scrap of text with a Bulgarian postage stamp becomes the object of art. This enigmatic scrap is laminated by Ifé, emphasising the security and detachment of the piece.

That's interesting! Thank you, Bradford.

Several of the stamps are not postage stamps, but revenues/tax paids.  The overprints always make for a fancier impression.

Solzhenitsyn is one of my favorite authors.
