NBS says the recipe is from a photocopied page of her great-grandmother's recipe book--ice box cookies? her layering is out of this world as she has used paint, ink, fibers, and paper. She also sent me a wonderful stack of 'trash' supplies that arrived just when inventory was low to no. thank you Nancy!! You have been very prolific lately and i don't know how you found time giving the blogjamming.  Also received this masterpiece altered book from Helder. I feel so honored to receive this and it was sooo worth the wait. Helder's shadow figures are hauntingly beautiful to me-they represent everyman(everywoman) and show his deep faith and connection to the elements and spirit world. Each page pays homage to the earth, sun, water, the "P" which I don't know what he means, what looks to be the chakras, and finally 'the book:". He has altered and given second life to a compact little book by unknown author-Ramon Muriel. I can not wait to see his other books as he says this is part of a series. Thank you Helder==I love this!!!!

Helder's altered book *is* a masterpiece: cosmic/universal and personal at the same time, with such worthy homage and so much to think about. It's a really wonderful work! Thanks for blogging it, Diane. And thanks for including mine in such good company. It is so interesting and enlightening to hear people's descriptions/reactions, I appreciate all. (Lisa, i'm glad you mentioned Rennie Mackintosh--I'd never heard of him and looked him up--more enlightenment ...)

I'm glad that the "book" reached safely to you Diane :) To answer your question Diane, P= PRANA or KI or other name that you want to call it, correspond to the  universal energy contained in all elements of the universe, i prefered to use the name Prana, and is in the air, on the water, on all living beings, in electricity etc. etc. And you are right Skybridge the "magick" is a subject that you will find on my future works, like Nature, archaic rituals, everything connected to "divine universe and earth of course" but also activist actions to some BIG society problems, but always with some hidden "spiritual" (i dont like this word and also "divine" too, but is the better way to you understand) feeling on the background. Diane you are right about my shadows figures but there is other things that for now will stay on the "dark"...

I hope one day to be able to commission Helder to do some pieces for me. he is able to paint/draw what I see in my meditation. Angie, I always see NBS's work as a kind of road map of her grey matter-intricate, winding, earthy, warm, mysterious, and diverse.
