RECEIVED: Mail-Art from the Haptic Werewolf aka Erni Baer (Hamburg, Germany)

Mail-art by IUOMA member Erni Baer (Hamburg, Germany)

July 12, 2011 - Erni Baer has been an excellent mail-art friend for a year now. I am a great admirer of his collage work that is guided by the tradition of Kurt Schwitters. This solid, postcard-size piece reveals his talent. As his moniker indicates, he has emerged as a central figure in the Haptic Poetry group here at the IUOMA, founded by Bifidus Jones (Minnesota, USA). I have received some interesting haptic work from Erni Baer also but am still contending with camera challenges. Here is the reverse side:

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Gilbert & George. Perhaps someone can fill me in. My bond with Erni Baer is strengthened by our mutual interest in the Beat Generation: Ginsberg, Kerouac, Burroughs, Corso etc. etc. I cannot stump Erni with any Beat knowledge I have. I must concede the best Beat scholar I know is in Hamburg, Germany. Thanks forward to this card, Erni. I look forward to more exchanges and adventures in the ether.

'Nice to see that my envelopes are "well preserved", Erni! ("pickled" in a jar?)

My poor little internet server out here at the village doesn't always allow me to see photos and images, but I discovered that if I get on-line about 6:30 in the am, there is a stronger signal....whahooo!

Some nice mail art, Erni! Love the collages...even recycled ;-)

You know you're picking up a bunch of people on your road trip. You really need a fluxus tour bus--will break for art (or perceived art)

okay, one of each only though. But yes, you should offer something that has value to you.

TV trays and TV dinners-so glad that is a thing of the past. They look fused with that couch
