Received: Mail-Art Collage from Mim Golub Scalin (Richmond, Virginia, USA)

Mail-art by IUOMA member Mim Golub Scalin (Richmond, Virginia, USA)

January 3, 2010 - Mim Golub Scallin has been making some very beautiful collages recently. I am very pleased to have received one through our ongoing mail-art trades. Both Mim and Jon Foster (North Carolina, USA) are generating a lot of interest among IUOMA members in effects that can be created using peeled tape and transparency techniques. I am glad to have this piece because it showcases Mim's eye for composition and wonderful textures. Here is the address side with some great stamps:

Mim is always very thoughtful about picking subjects and the kind of art that her friends will appreciate, I think. I know she is participating in the mail-art 365 project, which seems like such an extraordinary effort and will help to keep our mailboxes full during the year ahead. As ever, thank you Mim. And thank you for sharing collage techniques on the IUOMA boards. Mim's favorite blogspots are on the card above and can also be found here:

Very positively I hope. I'd never know about decollage if it weren't for you. And I think you deserve some credit too. I know you have your influences, of course.

Hi Erni, I know you know your collage. Mim, if you see this, you just received high praise.
