I received this mail from Gü earlier this week, and it was an utter delight. The envelope had three different pieces with the theme of "letters". The first piece is the "dead letter pile up" collage card above. It is a photo mounted on some nice black illustration board and a bunch of letters glued on. Inside the envelope there were also some loose letters--not sure if that was intended or just a nice unintended effect, as it added some slight chaos to the piece. On the back of the card is a little bit of trivia I've seen circulating online in the past:

It IS amazing that you can read it, and my name on the envelope was spelled Crhis Wlles. Thankfully the post office didn't send it back--they probably read it without flinching. The card came accompanied with part of an article about the Dead Letter Office and a suggestion to look up the rest. Being a fan of Melville and Bartleby, I do have a special fascination with this.

And she also sent this funny card (back and front) about extraordinarily long place names.

Again, some wonderful trivia on the back:

Thank you, Gü!
