The Colour of Mail Art, Rebecca Guyver and Top of the City, E.Coles

Rebecca's fabulous book (above) is about sharing. The pages consist of small collages inspired by other mail artists, in color and movement.

"Mail art from people I've never met. Alien art from places I've never been. I've been eating envelopes, growing landscapes, taking a brush for a walk in other people's palettes."  (Rebecca Guyver)

Emily's book is an accordion book, full of wonderful mark making and a poem. Reminds me of the top of the city.

"Tell me what that building is: The one that skims the leaden sky. The one that soars above the rest. Where falcons perch poised to fly. Steel and class shine through. The grey, stultifying gloom. City workers dine, before they catch that flight into the endless night."

Thanks so much to both of you!

Yippee Rebeccccca! Can't wait.

Art journal sounds good to me too, Carina--working on a book in an ongoing way, for a while, for someone. Love for mail art and materials would easily find its way all through the thing, yep.

Great Emily! I would love to trade with you. Although this kind of swapping is time consuming, it's a nice challenge and there's no hurry. Next year will be fine :)

Carina, I'd be interested in an art journal swap too - sounds time consuming but potentially very rewarding.

Rebecca, thanks for the info about the plastic. I use my sewing machine on paper quite a lot, so I'll try some plastic and see how I get on. I look forward to receiving a sample of your plastic work :)

BG and Rebecca, thanks! Looking forward to trade with you. I will gradually start working on my journals to you, it will be a longer process and too personal for blogging.

Nancy :)

Yes Carina, of course, anything to send and receive more!  I have now opened your package. OMG.  So tactile.  More later… I am in the midst of a photographing and scanning frenzy of quite an amazing haul of goodies.  It seems greedy to ever get another thing.

Nancy, one was sent to you!  BG, one will eventually be coming your way and to you too, DVS.  You are all featured in the little book.  In the end it will be an edition of 30.  I think I'm on 13.

Emily, I fuse the plastic and sew it, mostly.  I will send you a sample, once I get on top of this other little project!

These are great, and I'd love to participate in an "art journal".

Hi Emily, Rebecca, DVS! Maybe you are interested in an "art journal" swap? Question goes out to all. A swap with somekind handmade, little thicker book filled with anything during a "longer time". A little more personal, not necessarily a themed book. But above all made with love for mail art and materials.
