The Colour of Mail Art, Rebecca Guyver and Top of the City, E.Coles

Rebecca's fabulous book (above) is about sharing. The pages consist of small collages inspired by other mail artists, in color and movement.

"Mail art from people I've never met. Alien art from places I've never been. I've been eating envelopes, growing landscapes, taking a brush for a walk in other people's palettes."  (Rebecca Guyver)

Emily's book is an accordion book, full of wonderful mark making and a poem. Reminds me of the top of the city.

"Tell me what that building is: The one that skims the leaden sky. The one that soars above the rest. Where falcons perch poised to fly. Steel and class shine through. The grey, stultifying gloom. City workers dine, before they catch that flight into the endless night."

Thanks so much to both of you!

Ok, long term project, I agree.  Take your time!  My journal to Carina is 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches in size, maybe 20 pages(10 pieces of paper).  I'm using cardboard from the stamps I get in the mail for the covers.

Yes, I will make/trade an individual journal/book to people on my list. I will start with BG (Rebecca, Emily, Nancy..) I see this as one of my side projects - another one! To have books in circulation would also be fun, and I will participate if someone starts. Yesterday I began with the cover of BG's book, sometimes the cover shows the way what to do with the rest - this will not be that pretty :)

Nancy, you don't have to decide anything, the size is mostly there to slow the process and create new aspects (or uncertainty, but it may be good).

Claudia :)

They're pretty big, then...Uh oh, I'm scared...

Looks really fun! Are you going to send us a journal, or do we each make one and get them going in circulation?  Love no rules.  Not selfish at all!

Rebecca & co, here are two photos of what I have sent to Vizma. A "visual journal" size about 15 x 18cm (6x7 inches), hard cover, pages about 15-25. But there are no rules, that's the good thing. The keywords could be: mailart, personal, material and moment/time. hope I do not seem too selfish in this in anyway, not my intention.

Def a good thing, Carina! I am unsure how it proceeds.  In case you don't know, I am terrible at following directions.  I need everything explained, visually best! XX

You are definitely on my list, Nancy! ha ha, now I'm in trouble, but it's a good thing.

Your dance card is probably full by now, though. Feel free to put me on a wait list, by all means.
