Concept A using Black and Red only. How about enlarging the mail box flag and placing 25 on the flag with 'years' very small on the flag as well.

Sharon Sandberg Zimmer I'd love to see a giant envelope with the phrase: IUOMA: Billions of pieces mailed since 1988. (kind of like the McDonald's signs used to)

The students came up with this 'WiFi antenna" to make the electronic connection....

Not "electronic " mail art...electronic "communication" After making and sending mail art in the mail...we then electronically (via internt) at IUOMA communicate ...as we are doing right now on this blog, at that group, in a message , with a comment. So the iPod and the beeping antenna on the mail box are signs of ze moderne era of mail artists' "communication" ;-)

it is surely an idea we should give a try.

Bonjour!

Yes, Ruud, they are all different. PerhapsLisa Skybridge's idea is a good one -- choose an internationally recognisable one. If you go down that route then a) real or drawn?, and b) which one -- UK, US, France, a historic one, etc.

Another alternative is to use one of ours -- like, but NOT, the photo of mine. You could ask the IUOMA gang to send in photos of their boxes.

Last, none of the above cover Katerina's point about electronic Mail Art, to which I can only say Good!

Liberté, Egalité et Art Postal Traditionnel!

How does a European Type look like? They are different in almost every single european country....

Goede avond!

Of the 3, I prefer C.

I'd favour a non-US Mail postbox, & wonder how international it is as an image? A more 'normal' European-type one would be better, I think.

'Liking the third design because of the red mailbox, but also the "real" mail and "electronic" internet communication that is so much a part of IUOMA today!
