A really complex piece-it is ony 4" X 3" tall and came as is without an envelope. He writes that is is his own photo of a motel in St. Petersburg. I would never have thought of using a photograph as a background until Helen's Vispo Call. The text appears to be done in acrylic paint, but I can't tell. All of it has texture-I love this piece thank you Jim!

That explains a lot, Jim, in terms of textures, cracks, partial letters - perfect material from which to spin ideas about the nature of language, part of the terrain of visual poetry - literal "broken english" here.

the letters are actually "press type" or rub-on letters (Lettraset and the like) reminants of olden times, the stuff we used in design class...before computers...

foto vispo has legs - tremendous piece by Jim with vispo overlays on the b&w (DK - if you enlarge it, you can see "Stubbs & Ramone stayed here" carved in the wood of the cabin on the left.
