New Chicago School Stamps for September

Have completed latest edition for mailing. Am working to issue a new series as often as possible. Using image transfer techniques and a variety of styles, the work is designed to pay homage to my adopted hometown and the many inspirations I find here.

I agree that there is room for both artists and archivists working together. It is critical that any movement have the diarists that can help place the work in a cultural context and interpret the work (sometime for the artist themselves). I was much taken with your review of Karen Champlin's work - an astute and measured observation. Keep up the good work. There is a great need for monographs, booklets, chapbooks, blogs, articles, papers etc. on the MA movement and those that are active. This website is an incredible resource and finding fellow enthusiasts and practitioners makes me feel part of something so much bigger and vital. Viva vispo!

Dear Julian, thanks for the kind words. Some make art and some write about it and interpret it. I think there's room for both. I appreciate that people let me basically experiment on writing about their work as I try to find a language to talk about this that is not academic and not critical in the aspect of making judgments, forming canons, etc. I appreciate your knowledge and others who know much more than me about stamps; I'm just learning. And congratulations on the litho scholarship. I've always loved lithography. I hope you'll share some of that later on. Many thanks - DVS
