Midnight in Paris...or what happens when mail artists meet in a cafe?

What happens? The Eiffel Tower goes in a "bubble" on a mail art card and gets sent to Greece...almost

('would that it be of solid gold).

Dean Marks and I were in this Paris cafe, see...and we were making mail art...of course. And drinking wine....of course. Clever Dean cut a tiny image of the Eiffel Tower and put it inside a "bubble" of trash plastic, and it could "tinkle" in there like in a snowball thang. Well, that No.1 Eiffel Tower-in-a-bubble was sent, but arrived in Greece raped of the bubble and the Eiffel Tower :-(

Mail Art No.1 below...note glue circle around Taj? That was location of first Eiffel-in-a-bubble.

So Clever Dean went on to make Mail Art No.2 with new, improved Eiffel-in-a-bubble (upper images)

and this time IT ARRIVED in one-piece-Greece-without-a-default....yet ;-) "We are the Champions"...and all that!

Special thanks to Dean Marks...an Artist in Seine! xxx

Dean Marks makes these amazing postcard 3-d collages out of anything trashpo...and he sends them in the mail, and they usually arrive in-tact! How they get through the French postal machines is beyond me...but it seems they can get "torn up" once they arrive in Greece. So happy that this time the Eiffel Tower arrived safely!!!
