Today was full of mail and there will be some of wonders... -->

First about this wonderful card from Stephen Walker. I've seen some of his works before and he have one of most impressive, touching and intimate mailarts. Latvia is very small and unknown country for most foreigners and I'm glad and really touched how he add these beautiful stamps and our map with sun in the middle. There is much more rainy and cloudly days than sunny, but we are friendly and sunny people in our hearts because we need to be friendly to survive in this big world. I'm little a bit confused why these beautiful words are in russian, but it doesn't matters. This mailart from Stephen is wonderful anyway.

Then - this beautiful envelope from Dani Street with Vienna Court Opera prima balerina on it. It was interesting to look at her portrait and read about her because I'm interested in history and also I'm art research student. It is very interesting how Dani  combine elements of facts and history with mail. I looked inside thrilled and wanted to read something more on sewn up edges of this envelope. There was a surprise - a page from a book with a little boy who wanted to see time fly.( I will show it in my next post)

And in the end, this fabulous envelope full of treasures from Jurgen Volkert-Marten. Tickets, little pictures and two charming visual poetry pages. So minimalistic and clear but I looked at all these small and big peaces very long.  It was just like as a dessert after dinner.

Thank you, all great mail artists!

I noticed the Latvian flag and thought maybe it was for me! Yes, pity about the Russian text, but most people don't realise how hard we have had to fight to get our independence and our own language. Even this year Latvians around the world had to vote against Russian being the official 2nd language. And we succeeded.

Anyway, nice blog An, and it's great to have you here at IUOMA! Sveiks lai dzivo!
