Comment by Marie Wintzer on December 10, 2010 at 4:25am: Absolutely. Calligraphy = from the Greek Kallos, beauty + graphie (with a little thingy on the e, Katerina would know) writing. Beautiful writing, it's probably what both calligraphy and asemic writing are aiming at.

Right now I think I'm trying too hard to find a style, I should let it come to me.

Some conversions arose today about Geof Huth's piece that didn't surface in the comment stream: the relation between asemics and calligraphy. Being sometimes not able to see the forest for the trees, I had not thought about the strong relationship between the two. So you have a number of possibilities in terms of how you approach it.
