I say this every time, but Svenja makes stunner envelopes . This one comes with vintage drawings of scenes of daily life in traditional Japan. Beautiful!
The card she includes is a little bit different from what I have seen from Svenja so far (or maybe this is just my impression?), but it retains her sense of balance of text and image and a very efficient way of using it to make us dig deeper. The text she chose is from "The Wild Iris" by Louise Glück. This is the first time I read anything by this TrashPoLitzer Pulitzer Prize winner, here is a bit more of it:
At the end of my suffering
there was a door.
Hear me out: that which you call death
I remember.
Overhead, noises, branches of the pine shifting.
Then nothing. The weak sun
flickered over the dry surface.
It is terrible to survive
as consciousness
buried in the dark earth.
Thank you Svenja, your turn to dark minimalist art will undoubtedly get heads nodding. I am thrilled to have this in my collection!

It's a tempting idea (and a good one, Marie). Too bad I don't go anywhere. But now there's a reason to, so...stay tuned. Do I have other funky socks! It's the one piece of clothing I have a ridiculous amount of. Love sox. Will show more.
That's a great idea Marie-Erni's, now Nancy's, shoes have taken on a life of their own. I'm anxious to see what other funky socks you have to go with them
You could start a blog and take pictures of the shoes everywhere you go. Like some people do with rubber duckies when they travel.
My icon changed so no one has to stop laughing. :--}
Big thank you for your comments! And I'm also still laughing over his incredible shoes!!
Your shoes still make me laugh non stop Nancy ;-))
This roots around in your core. Wow, Svenja. I'm glad you blogged this, Marie.
I knew you would like the TrashPo Litzer ref ;-))
I agree, Svenja needs to be recruited for MinXus!
Svenja is Natural Born MinXus - what wonderful work she sent. That is one creepy Louise Gluck poem. Clever reference to the TrashPo Litzer, CB.
