Let them eat biscuit - from Grigori Antonin

I was very happy to get this card from Grigori plus his kind words. I'm often thinking that it's time to send him something, I'm glad he didn't forget about me. It's soon royal wedding (rayal wedding?) up there in England, very topical card. And, I was wondering, could the "let them eat biscuit" and the "HRH Marie Wintzer" be a reference to me being called Marie Antonette by a common friend? ... Nah, surely no...Or is it? In any case, thanks for the rayal mail, Grigori, love it!

No on the Snooks, Angie? Even if it's coincidence, I suppose it still shows some sort of strange talent if we can find all these things in there to talk about. But let's not enshrine The Grigster as a Mail-Art Matisse. You know the thing where they say if you let monkeys beat on a keyboard long enough they'll eventually write something that makes sense? It's more like that.

After the performance here in which Simba ate Erni's chocolate, GA staged a performance on his blog where he ate Erni's chocolate. This mail-art tribute he sent to CB of the dogs of mail-art, edible art, Marie Antonette - it all has a pretzel logic. The Grigster still rides tall in the saddled. He is, as ever, Out There.

I like this card even more now. I remember a package that Angie got, she had to count the number of broken/unbroken biscuits to get her lucky number. We were making up stories about Snooky getting the package from the mail box, telling Angie that there was no mail that day, while hiding the open pack of biscuits behind his back and going mumf mumf mumf mumf... funny.

My first thought is Snooky the Amazing Mail-Art Dog. The Minnesota Menace would be very familiar with Snooks, especially the canus scanus days. He thinks about animals. Don't forget monkeys. But it could be all the great mail-art dogs. He has, in his way, given them his blessing.

IS it a ref to the Snooker?

OMG - completely missed WHO was saying "Let them eat biscuits." Perhaps I was too hasty. This is kinda cool.
