Karnival of Trash Mail Art Call: Garden of Trashpo by Alan Brignull (Colchester, Essex, UK)

Mail art by IUOMA member Alan Brignull (Colchester, Essex, UK)

November 9, 2016 - An interesting archeology/anthropology theme has emerged in the already legendary and iconic Karnival of Trash exhibition. This wonderful piece by Alan Brignull in England is the latest addition.

Alan Brignull is not a member of DKULTUK nor is he identified with Trashpoets (although he is a highly regarded mail artist). But, of course, the Karnival of Trash embraces “Independents” or (as they are known to DKulters) “Normals.” Someone who is not a DKult member is a Normal. These wonderful representations of ceramic fragments can be viewed as Trashpo or possibly even ancient Trashpo Tablets. They are a great contribution to the show!

That's relative, Alan. "Normals" is a designation of the Church of the Subgenius (you might recall), and DKult does its best to steal every thing it can.

Your piece is much-admired at the M-L blog and on FB. DK herself made a positive comment.

Thank you, lovely work.

Thanks, De Villo. First time for ages someone's called me normal.
