Mail art by IUOMA member Gu aka Gina Ulgen (Norwich, Norfolk, UK)

November 19, 2016 - I am humbled to have received this extraordinary correspondence art (and just plain art in general) from Gu aka Gina for the unworthy Karnival of Trash. The package contained a series of eight prints, documented here, stenciled on vintage newspaper sheets (1973). The scale and color are powerful; these would be amazing, for instance, displayed together on a wall. Here is the envelope that arrived:

Gu included a sheet that leaves no doubt concerning the title:

Here are more of the incredible stencil prints by Gu:

Gina Ulgen also included a very nice card that explains a great deal, although there is some slight damage because some of these pieces were a little stuck together:

For no reason I understand, the Karnival of Trash call has inspired Gu/Gina – whom we all knew was talented beforehand – to create spectacular and memorable new work. Thanks and appreciation are simply inadequate.
