When I had the mini 'ink blot' challenge inspired by Thomas Brown's mail art it made me think of real inkblots.

I used up the rest of my watercolor postcards (good) but purchased blue ink (bad) to make them.

I kept a terrible record of who they were sent to, as well as of how many there were.

Here's a sampling.

I know I sent MomKat one, in this envelope that was made from the reverse of a poster Erni gently removed from a wall in Hamburg and sent me.

The reason I know this, is because she collaged it into a face and returned it.

The card arrived in a Greek Summer Time envelope, complete with a great stamp - it must be summertime if you're bathing naked in a stream! Although this stamp, issued in February this year, depicts Thermal Springs, so maybe it would work all year round.

Accompanied by one of Kat's owls, and an artistamp in her signature blue.

Thanks for this great collaboration. Kat.

The postage stamp shows the  hot spring waterfall and baths at Aridaia ( also know as Pozar)

near Pella. The gals must be from the time of Alexander the Great :-)

"The Prefecture of Pella is situated at the central - western area of Macedonia in North Greece.

It borders are the prefectures of Florina, Grevena, Kozani nearby Ioannina and

Thessaloniki City on the west and east side.

According to the past legends, Loutra Pozar hot Baths and Loutraki Aridaia Village

was Alexander the Great favorite spa place in the winter months."

It is located not far to the west of ancient Pella, his home town :-)

Thanks for blogging, Phillip, and I hope a  few others who received your

ink blots see this blog and add 'n return a few back to you. If not,

they are out there in the wide world of mail art, and that is nice, too!
