Or just "minimal," or just "abstraction":Helen said that she is studying abstraction, when she answered my (very) appreciative comments to her posting of photos showing her abstract explorations from the same series as above.  In my view this is "advanced" abstraction, meaning it looks to me as if it came from an artist who has been through many phases of abstraction.  In any case, it was thrilling to find this in my mailbox, especially when Helen knew from our correspondence that I'm in love with what she is doing with the paint and with the texture of the corrugated board.  It's one of those special works that just speaks to me, affects me, inspires me, and maybe I can't say why.  The art speaks for itself, as it ultimately always does.

The other side, the address side, feels like a continuation of this side, so here it is:

Thank you so much, Helen, and as you know, it is already on my wall for inspiration.  I have great respect and appreciation for art in all its shapes and forms, but often end up back at pure abstraction, which became my first love over twenty years ago.

Why did I have a feeling you would appreciate this too? Aren't the textures great? And the colors, which are just right by not stealing attention away from the textures. They all co-exist in a grand way.
