Go Bananas! Banana Lover's Day Mail from Lisa Iverson, Valentine Mark Herman, Janine Weiss, Katerina Nikoltsou, Dean Marks, Carina Granlund, Mail Art Martha and Louise Kiner

Ten days have passed since BANANA DAY! And the mail continues to trickle in!

It was great fun making up pieces to send, but as usual, I am more amused by the mail I am receiving!

My first piece arrived from Lisa Iverson at Skybridge Studio. The monkey's tail had ripped off in transit. Wise Lisa suggested I draw it back on! The monkey is decidedly happier now!

Val's Banana Monster arrived on Thursday, just as I was headed off to Cook Forest for the long weekend. (Here in the states, it was Labor Day weekend.)

When I arrived home on Monday, the mailbox was chock full!

Mail Art Martha sent this piece:

Katerina Nikoltsou sent out Banana Boats! Here's the front of both the artwork and the envelope it came in:

And the back...

Carina Granlund's piece was humorous and texturally delightful!

Louise Kiner attempted to make her Banana Day mail interactive... only none of us wants to cut her piece apart! Here's the outside:

The dancing bananas would be lost if one actually cut out the holes for Andy's "legs" for the recommended "dancing."

Imagine my surprise at Janine Weiss' mini book to celebrate Banana Day! Here's a look at the front of the book and the envelope it came in:

And the back:

Last, but not least, I received this piece from Dean Marks who chose to represent the Banana Split as well as the Banana!

This side of Dean's piece celebrates the stages of Banana Decay! Oh, for the love of Bananas!

I, myself, sent out twelve Banana-grams and have thus far received eight pieces in return. Not bad. All in all, I declare the Banana Lover's Day mail swap a huge success!

Imagine my surprise, having been away so long, to return and find new posts here!

Thanks for sharing, Carina! :D

Louise, I'll look forward to the "Banana" film... I'm glad you liked your card. :D

I think I will have to make a "Banana" film in your honor. What a great "Banana Day" post. Thank you for your banana day card, Lynn. I hope you get it done and not too sick of bananas.

Lynn, Yes I used watercolor paper, acrylic and ink... I don't often use rough watercolor paper but this time.. The purpose of the hole is to lift the design  :))

Angie, I love your mail from Dean! Makes that banana dolphin priceless! :D

Thanks for stopping by, Carina! I wondered if your cards were done on watercolor paper? And does the hole have an intended purpose? Inquiring minds want to know!

I LOVE the APPEALING  nature of Banana Mail!  Thank you for the suggestion! He was Monkeying around, trying to catch a Banana, whilst complaining he had no tail with which to swing himself to the other side! You made my day and his! :D

I am glad you understood it all and enjoyed it, Janine! Your mini book was delicious! :D

In the US, we have lots of designated days and months. For example: National Ice Cream Day is celebrated the third Sunday in July. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. National Grandparent's Day is coming up on September 9th. I could go on and on... :D

Thank you for sharing a bit about the Federal Fast! It sounds like grand fun!

Nice of you to stop in, Katerina! I loved your fleet of Banana Boats! :D

Angie, I figured that Snooky had kidnapped any banana mail you might have attempted to send... I've been leaving him off quite a bit and I really thought he was thumbing his nose at me... LOL So glad to hear that is NOT the case! Will keep my eyes PEELED! :D
