From Rod Summers, John M Bennett and Vittore Baroni - Mail Art Greats

These pieces all came the same week. They said they wanted stick together – who am I to argue?? Especially as they’re Mail Art Greats – MAG’s for short. AND of course, I’m into the new blog trend – Composites – I think they’re FAB!

Rod Summers arrived on Monday.

He has been sending me a series of works featuring The Secret Writings of Dr Moss Mure.  They’re secrets trapped inside laminations. OF COURSE I’ve asked him who Dr Moss Mure is – don’t you want to know too?? But he’s sure being cryptic as only HotRod knows how!!!   This time the good Doctor is life trapped in dreams. MAN! I know that one for sure.

Tuesday – the welcome arrival of John M Bennett and Jim Leftwich doing HOW.  How? Its complex collage, overwritings, printings with the likes of Helen Bancroft and Virginia Tracy trying to escape the scotch tape.

AND!!!! My own JMB list – sorry  everyone, this one is NOT for sale! What do poets do? MAN! – On Monday,  Wednesday, Thursday and other days they write poems of course! In between they water the garden and do strenuous Fork Lints.

Wednesday – The safe arrival of Vittore Baroni’s A Piece of Sky with ONO Hole – collage for Yoko – I got 0/40.  It’s a mysterious beaut for sure. AND the sun knew just where to shine :-)

Oh, and stamps, loads of GREAT Art Detox stamps including  The Dada Vinci Codex (great!), The 999 Bandaged Man and the spooky Pale Network. Life being what it is currently, I’m a member – its also winter after all.

Thank you.  FAB Mail Art Week from the MAG’s.

A very trendy blog indeed Cheryl!!

The piece of Sky is my favorite, with that ray of sun, happening just so perfectly and beautifully captured...

Not the slightest on Dr. Moss Mure - perhaps the ether doctor who offered to help the poor girl who awoke in the zoo with amnesia and her friend Bennie the dwarf? I have not forgotten.

Bravo to Baroni for Art Detox 2010! I see the need for one in 2011.

Any ideas who Dr Moss Mure is?? Goggle revealed nothing so I'm thinking some sort of potential character for Rods new Audio Art - except he's silent ;-).  JMB - a whole collection again - ALWAYS great envelopes and Vittori - always WAAAAIIIITTTTT but always worth it :-) X - this time - lucky me!

Wonderful grouping of work. The Bennett/Leftwich vispo is pretty amazing.  The Baroni, I think, is really, really nice - very minimal.

That John Bennett list is fatter than mine, Cheryl; and it looks like he accomplished a lot more with it.  It might be worth as much as $3.23.  Think about it.
