Now here is the watercolor image, what a beauty:

"That rare and beautiful creature glimpsed..."

"..beneath the colonnade at midday"

and the card, (he knows Elli Lambeti!) and the Caryatid:

Fabulous, David!

"Through all kinds of weather...what if the sky should fall?

Just as long as we're together, it doesn't matter at all..

We stand here alone, made out of stone, side by side "

(all are now copies outside atop the Acropolis)

If you come to Athens and go to the Acropolis Museum,

inside you will be able to see the 5 originals, clean and well combed,

their 6th sister is missing (kidnapped by Lord Elgin)

Let's make hats like those. Eh? Sell them to tourists?

Thanks Katerina. I wonder if women at the time said, "Boy, nobody wears their hair like that."

Until they brought the Caryatids to the display at the museum, David,we had never

seen their backs and the beautiful braids. Each one is different:

And they have this thick "hair" at the back of their necks to allow for

thicker stone to support that weight above them . Thus, Tom , it was

a design to not have pressure just on their necks :-)

I'd never seen the elaborate coiff before. Thanks, Katerina.

Is that a lot of pressure on their necks?

Excellent...thanks, Katerina. I'll ask Diane to return the marbles one more time.
