Fancy "Window" Mail Art from Margreet Beemsterboer

A most unusual piece of mail art arrived recently from the Netherlands...

Although the envelope is constructed with a traditional "sealing flap" (see picture directly above), there were instructions on the front of the envelope (top picture): "Cut--->to open"

Well, let it not be said that I am not a good follower of instructions. So I took a pair of miniature thread snippers and cut the very tightly and expertly sewn stitches that "sealed" the doors of the front of the postal piece... The effect was like opening the little doors of an Advent Calendar. And what was my little prize?...

Why, two little curtained windows with flowerbox sills to brighten the neighborhood, of course! Thank you, Margreet, for such a labor-intensive and delicate piece of mail art. It is quite extraordinary, and fun to open!
