As you can see I am on the brink of mailing out a huge batch of mail art...each one absolutely original.not a mass printed item in sight! I've been working on them for a while now. Although it feels pretentious I am going to go ahead and call them a series, entitled "Imitate.Subvert.Own." Which is what a lot of mail art is really all about, isn't it. I used paint on the front of the envelopes and the moisture stuck the back of the envelopes down prematurely...most of them. So most of them are just envelopes masquerading as postcards...or postcards masquerading as envelopes (depending on your perspective!). What I mean to say is - in most of them there is nothing inside....I'll label those ones EMPTY to avoid the disappointment of opening an envelope only to find nothing inside!
