I found these in a box of partially created mail art projects from way back in about 2010-2012.
These particular books were from a boxed set of kids mini board book picture stories that I picked up from a charity shop. I must have been in a chocolate mood at the time as I used different chocolate bar wrappers to cover the books and the box.
Im thinking of sending the books out individually to be add and pass books.

This flower themed deco was made using a tiny mini boardbook. the inside spread shown is my own creation, but as with add and pass items, decos are sent along to another to use a whole page with a collage or drawing until the deco book is full and it gets sent back to the owner.
this is another board book deco (these are more like a combination of decos and art journals because of the size of the books). This boardbook was quite badly damaged by my son when he was a toddler, the layers of paper that get compacted into the cardboad had started to fray and tear at the edges. so instead of throwing it out I cut the damged edges away and it went a bit wonky. but i kind of like that rough look sometimes.
this board book i liked because the cover was padded and the pages were extra thick, it reminded me of a pocket sketchbook. i had painted the cover with a mix of glue and black poster paint.
Hi Jennifer. I like to upcycle and alter things. These books are simply childrens board books with the shiney page plastic carefully torn away and removed. Then once that is done, I either fix in plain paper and glue it down for making a good base page for people to add things to, or if I'm using the board books for an altered book or deco, then I just work straight onto the cardboard with my image page construction.
Ive got some other examples i can show. just give me a few minutes or so and ill load them here to show you
Hi Momkat :-) Ive currently got the first three books packaged up and ready to post tomorrow. Ive still got 3 more of these books to get circulated. But Im trying not to mail so many heavier items all together. you know trying to make my postage stamps last longer before i need to buy more lol.But when I do want to send out these other books, you will be one of the addys to get it started.
Would definitely like to add and pass one of these,
if mail can come to Greece? Thanks, Heather, they look amazing.
Great Idea! I'll take one!
Cool.
