Willemien Visser: Bedbugs in Boots

It's an old Dutch fairy tale about the night where the bedbugs came down from the mountains and carried away all the children boots.  But wait a second, there are no mountains in Holland, and if this is an age old Dutch fairy tale, children would have been wearing wooden shoes.

Thank you Willemien.  Can't wait to see the one about the little Dutch boy who plugs a dike…

Jokie X Wilson: Back from Alaska

Jokie is back from Alaska with inspiration.  This one was inspired by an encounter with a polar bear.  Happy Jokie lived to tell paint the outcome.

Thank you Jokie and happy to hear you enjoyed your trip.

Erni Bar: Open UHU Air

It's Open air UHU season again this year.  UHU (Owl in German*), I consider the best glue in the world.  However I have been banned from using it on buses, trains, planes and automobiles because of the strong smell.  I never noticed the smell before, but on a number of…

Jokie X Wilson: Baked Alaska

Jokie send me this Mail Art piece the day before his big trip to Alaska.  I think it could have been a farewell Mail Art piece in case he never returns.  I hear that it is so beautiful that you never want to return to civilisation again.  I guess in one way it's similar to going to the Pigalle area in Paris.

Anyway someone once gave me a very strange deck of…

Jokie X Wilson: One of Sixteen

A drawing embellished with watercolour then cut up into sixteen pieces.  That would be blocks of four by four.  I got a side piece.  So if you received one of the sixteen, let us know so we can at least electronically put it back together again.  Like Humpty Dumpty !

Thank you muchty Jokie.  It reminds me of the song; "She was only…

Alan Brignull: Drill Chuck Wrench

How many drills could a drill chuck wrench chuck if a drill chuck wench could chuck a drill ?  OK easy enough.  But my newt question will surely stump you.

My very first J.A.D. original straight from the good state of California.  California home of the bionic woman and the state bird is a red hat. This is real drawing.  J.A.D.creates space by having the hat and bridge go back in the drawing.

Thank you J.A.D.  Hats off to you.

Jokie X Wilson: 30 Year Old Monotype

As explained on the back, this is a monotype Jokie did thirty years ago.  I really like it and find myself gazing at it all day.

Let me see, the big hit of July 1986 was "Holding Back the Years" by Simply Red.  How appropriate!

By the way, Simply Red is…

It's summer.  It's summer, the ice cream is flowing, the DaDa birds are singing and elephants are still pink.  Especially Dada ones.  Yep, those are really painted circles.  And we know what Katerina has been upto this past month.
