Two more exciting opportunities for…

A sunny spring day and I am back outside drawing from nature. This sketch was done with Lyra Grey tone crayons and a 2B pencil. I like the subtle colours the crayons introduce as it provides more interest than using graphite alone.

Thanks to all the mailart makers involved in this short comedy film doing the rounds of the film festivals this year.

The same sitter, but this time drawn from the front!

I am going to try some figure work this year.  Here's a small study that explores the interconnectedness of shapes as a possible theme. I like the close-cropping and the way the body is cradled by the soft furnishings.

Inspired by the short days and brilliantly coloured sunsets of the Northern hemisphere in winter, I hope this colour sketch brings brightness to everyone's New Year!

Have spent some time on still life composition this month, working with the full tonal range, plus a touch of colour.
