Send A Message Of Caring - Make A Trashpo Boekie

Yes, the title is so true.  Trashpo boekies are made with loving hands; by people who love to share.  They are unique, creative, tiny works of art.  Little bits of intriguing scraps, found, sorted, painted, and given a new life when the scraps are bound together.  There is mystery, drama, wonder, fun, and much more, to enjoy in these tiny booklets.  The paper/items included have come into the posession of the artists in random ways, but they are not randomly assembled.  They are prepared…

Dean Marks Weaves Webs Of Mystery

Whoo Hooo!  At last one of Dean's fabulous Rubber Band Webs has graced my mailbox.  And what a delight it is.  Many thanks to you, Dean.

It has everything a girl could want and lots more to ponder.  Like who ate that chocolate bar and was it delicious?  Did Dean eat it or was it the postman that delivered it to my house?  Who but Dean would think of combining a tiny book, a pin with a running man, an army tank, a shoe string and lots of ribber bands, into an object of mail…

JJalltheway Continues Along The Mail Art Road

JJ is fast approaching 1,000,000 pieces of mail art - at her own pace.  She recently sailed past me and  joined the 365 Honors Group.  That's the group that actually has completed 365 in 365 days.  Check it out!  Most members of the group continue to create mail.  If you are not a mail art addict (many already were), you will be by the time you complete the 365 marathon.

I have been a lucky recipient of more than a few, of these JJ gems.  She has the knack of putting…

The Cake Is In The Mail!

This lovely cake was sent to me by Laura AKA spopod. our own 365 Zentanglist, for my birthday.  I have been doing a lot of whinning about how awful it is to have a birthday falling around the holidays.  Laura being the sweetheart that she is sent me this beautiful, hand made cake.  Thank you, Laura!  I love it and it has zero calories! …

Cheap Art From Skybridge Studios

What a lucky gal I am.  This season has been the most interesting holiday card season ever.  I have been fortunate to receive the most interesting mail art.

This is from Lisa AKA Skybridge Studios and one of my best connections to the FLUXUS movement.  This is all quite new to me and I always appreciate all of the help I can get.  A manifesto & a wonderful, scrappy, Trashpo ornament.

Manafesto & Ornament.…

Mad Madge Takes It To The Edge

Mad Madge asked me how to do the Jon Foster tape transfer technique and I told her.  She then created (that very evening) some tape transfers.  I'm not sure if this is one of the first, but I sure do like how she has added the twist of sewing.  MM did note that it was her favorite one and she sent it to me!  An extra bonus - she has dated it 11/11. …

Received: minimal art from prettylily

A cool piece, with a slight problem: The problem? The piece of screening had fallen off in the envelope, and Sue didn't remember where it goes. She had written on the back: "Simple enough yet? Ha, ha, still working on it." At first I took that to mean she is still working on going minimal, then, second-guessing, thought maybe she *meant* for me to finish it, with her "Ha, ha, still… Continue

"Minimal" art from prettylily Sue Bowen

Sue claims this is not as minimal as she would have liked, and I have to agree that it's not the most minimalist work I've seen, but it's extremely handsome and I love it.  Sue also said "...but it screamed NBS!"  There's probably a good reason for that, such as the fact that I too have a hard time doing anything minimal (art or not).

Rotated left is also appealing, and…
