The Curling Steam From The Gravy Boat

November is here and the leaves pile up on the back garden path. Soon the green bin will be full.  We are enjoying the colours of Autumn every day on our walks . Amazing yellows, browns and reds.  We are lucky to have the countryside so close here in Rudheath.  It's but a short walk to the Trent & Mersey canal in one direction and down the lane the other way are fishing ponds and the River Dane.  Lots of farm land full of corn stubble and some for sheep and cows.  Sadly some has been…

Landscape Beautification Project

For a long time, I've been altering vintage postcards, usually fairly boring ones, with the addition of a piece of art. I have a lot of fun finding just the right piece, with the right angle, to set into the landscape. This is one I did last fall. I'd popped it into a storage drawer, forgot about it, and am now sending it out. Finally, in 2020.    Can you spot the addition? …

Shell Flotilla series

I started this series because I was gifted with a bunch of vintage postcards with many multiples. I love multiples for making series. I'd been cutting shells out of a book and thought they'd be perfect for this. On the reverse is this story: The towns' people gathered annually on the shores of the Suwannee River to watch the Shell Flotilla (or something like that.)…
