OH Why OH why does Cheryl torture me this way. Yes another wonderful painting cut up into pieces and sent all over the world. You got to admit it, the lady has a great style. I just keep telling myself; “ be grateful for the piece you received”, “artist have the power to do whatever they want with their own work”, I can’t wait to meet her and hit her with a newspaper. Bad Girl, Bad Girl.…

Although it kills me to imagine Cheryl cutting up her paintings, I have come to terms with it now and it no longer gives me nightmares. And an original Cheryl Penn is worth its weight in gold as far as I am concerned. And with the current gold prices I estimate this to be about $2.72 USD. So if the other nine people who received a piece of this painting would like to send me their piece, I will happily send them a cheque. But could you please wait until the end of the month before…

one of the inserts looks to be a page from Cheryl's 'A World is a Town' boekie. the paper is coated with wax and stamped 'excluded'. (my favorite page) Texture and concepts throughout this piece. …

customs declaration CN22, states "BOOK, NO VALUE" and i beg to differ. Layers of history, a chronicle, a saga, hidden pockets of Cheryl's boekies of past. The complexity of this piece is borderline overwhelming, staggering and gorgeous! Apologies for the photos and this blog. Here is a peek into this marvel. Thank you Cheryl. My mind is permanently blown.…

In Cheryl's words, 'In the Interim'. Nothing makeshift here. Thanks CP, this will more than hold me over.

Well the real phrase goes something like that. And here we have it, a bone from Prince of Crance or is it a Dean Marks artifact?
Here we are with the original bone with the original certificate. I don't know what you might do with this, but I'm keeping it in a save place.…

I don't really know how to start this blog, because no blog can say enough to do justice to this work. Cheryl's Book about Books is an absolute beauty. It won't reveal all its secrets at first glance. You will have to dig in and explore to find out more about it.…

To start here is the back of Vizma's envelope declaring it a two-for-one with a warning. She warns me not to fall for the really bad pick-up line inside,
The Pick-Up Line Silly Vizma...I would never fall for this line again, It doesn't take me 3 times to learn my lesson but it sure is nice to know you care ;)…

Music was the first theme for the official kick off of Cheryl's New Alexandrian Library. She is sending one of her books back for every work she is getting, and as usual I'm on the winning side. Her book is an ode to music, to the poetry in all music, to its many facets.…

Ok this was the pieces that confirmed what I had been wondering for a long time now. Cheryl is not a "Sunday painter". Not that I have anything against Sunday painters. All art is good. What I mean is Cheryl can see these images in her head and paint them.
Well Cheryl didn't really have this image in her head. It came as a A3 size painting, and when I scanned it twice on my A4 scanner, something went wrong.
But if you can imagine that the left bit turns around…

Cheryl has once again investigated. She always brings back tiny bits of forgotten history from her trips for us to enjoy. This one had me laughing for a long time. And where does she get all that stuff from? Leonardo and his bi-pede T-shirt that he never took off :-))) a piece of genius writing. The front of the card is a picture of the T-shirt, and the back is an…

Lovely and interesting piece from Cheryl Penn. Sewing, story & envelope all in one. I like the story but these are a few faults. Women who hold up the world ... say anywhere you want to be and they will take you there. However, recently I have notice a lot of women wandering around parking lots looking for where they parked thier car. Is there a time limit on how long it…

Even though this boekie has been posted it's not within my constraint ability to not post it again. Up close and personal the covers glisten and reflect light like a zillion stars. Always a pleasure Cheryl. And thanks for the inspiration.
