Tomo Securities Mail Art Project

The images featured herein are from a project I've been planning for some time. Tomo securities started as a joke in 2007 when I was found to be living in my art studio by the other members of the group. One of the rules outlined by the landlords was 'no living in the building' - a nineteenth century warehouse of a very far from residential nature. However it is quite acceptable for someone to inhabit such a building if they in fact providing security, and so Tomo Securities was created and began to inform the direction of my artwork. Often commenting on (or providing an alternative to) the seedy and corrupt nature of the usual security industry, based on aggression, bravado, and possibly even - insecurity?

It is my aim here to invite people worldwide to join Tomo Securities, after downloading and posting a recruitment form, I shall endeavour to send you a small A4 hand screen printed poster which you can attach to your property to show you are protected by Tomo Securities. All information is right here on my website:

http://quangowangism.com/tomosecurities.html

I hope you enjoy.

Does Mail Art?

And now I have put up the poster on the front door, you may say the gateway to the United Queendom of Retailia. I am waiting for the comments of the common people eg; non mailartists. Here is a photo to prove it.

I am sure it will stop a few thieves on their tracks. Thanks again. I am working on something to send to you, slowly.

Thanks for the magnificent print Tomo, it was worth the wait. Even doing less involved artwork it is difficult to find the time no wonder it took you a bit longer this super work. Unfortunately the gallery burnt down as you may know but still I have a house full of valuable Mail Art. I shall stick your artwork on my front door which is glass and wait for the reaction. Should be fun, my family/friends/neighbours ignore my mailarty inclinations, with the kind smile they reserve for children and fools. You see, I do not sell it so it couldn't be art. I have two suporters though, my husband and the postman. The last is proud of it, I think, it makes his day.
