How do I make rubber stamps?

Some of the mail art I have received has been decorated by rubber stamp prints. I would really like to make some of my own when I have the time. Does anyone have any tips on how to get started?

For many years I have sent handmade postcards to my friends, but it is only recently that I found out about mail art as an art movement, and since then I have started my own project! I find it really inspiring seeing other peoples work and really exciting!

Please may people send me postcards depicting their phobia in any medium they wish. Once I recieve 100 I will start to organise an exhibition for the summer. I've recieved a lovely bunch so far, and hope to get many more!

My project is going really well so far, with many people all over the world sending me wonderful pieces of mail art. It always makes my day when I receive some.
