Oh well, sorry about that.....

When a French civil servant (and most of the French population is, or was, a civil servant) retires, they are given a poodle as a retirement present. Lower-grade civil servants get black poodles on retirement. Middle-grade senior servants get white poodles. Senior civil servants get so-called "champagne" coloured poodles -- perhaps to dunk in their champagne. And really senior, senior civil servants get BIG poodles like the one in your collage of any colour they like, with 10 years free clipping & coiffeuring.

Vaaal, how could you suggest such a thing, the poodle is comforting the man from the doodle, hence the box for him/her to stand on. By all means tell me your theory about the French and their poodles...

If it's a French poodle, then the poodle is most defintely in control. Mind you, it depends on what's going on between the man and the poodle...looks a bit, et, naughty to me.

(I'll tell you my theory about the French and their poodles if you like, but it doesn't really have anything to do with your photo)

Reminds me of Frank Zappa's "Dirty Love".
