Vintage French photo circa 1909: altered-postcard. The green stamp is most probably circa 1900-1940. Handwritten French greeting on reverse. The placement of the stamp means, 'I love you'. Read about the 'language of stamps' at

Hi Carmela,

Below are 2 Language of Stamp collages I did once upon a time.

Are these ladies my old flames? you ask.

Well, no, and there is only one lady (in 4 different poses); She's not one of my old flames -- it's me, dressed up to party!

Bonjour Mark--thanks for enlightening me about the language of stamps! I read more info about it --very interesting part of postal history.

Are these ladies old flames of yours?  :-)

She looks kinda familiar (see below).

Do you know 'The Language of Stamps'? The position and placement of a stamp -- here top left, angled and upside down-- contains a secret message of love/affection.  (There is also 'The Language of Flowers', '...of Vegetables', etc from the same era.
