Thank you for your very perceptive comments. I'm so glad that you like this little art work. It started as an automatic drawing and morphed into smoke and refracted bits of light and debris. I think that it surfaced from my subconscious because of all the smoke that we have been having due to wildfires--several relatively close to me--hence the wind and smoke. My friend, Frances, has suffered from the same smokey skies and so I knew that this card would resonate with her. I would be happy to correspond with you. I'll send you mail art with my address soon.---Carmela

I once again today wsa asked that age old getting to know you question we all dread: what's your favorite color? My answer? Why choose? I want the WHOLE GRAYSCALE for my special corner of the rainbow! I love the subtlety of your color use and rhyming subject matter in this piece so much! Wind, smoke, fog, vapor-someone once asked me when I was a schoolteacher what color a mirror is and I really couldn't say! Seems you've got a bit of this kind of magic going on here in this piece of fascinating and beautiful mail art...Want to exchange some time? I'm a former, recovering colorist and painter-I tend to use my old work to whip up postcards, letterheads, stickers and what have u nowadays-looking for more correspondents in varying media to share this stuff with! Either way I love your stuff, kudos to you! Sincerely Hilary K.
