trash lashes - genius. I'm appropriating that

The bulk of our collection was inherited from an eccentric billionaire. Apparently the Nevelsons were particularly hard to obtain as it involved bribes to mortician's beauticians and the like. Nancy, economists tell us that fully 80% of our current economy is based on Nail Salons (T-Shirts and tattoo removal parlors make up the balance). You can understand how vital our work is. China is already way ahead of us in False Eyelash production. You've probably noticed how all the little Mom and Pop False Eyelash Weaving Shoppes of our youth have been replaced by cell phone outlets and iPantries. We've got to bring America home, Nancy. It's the small businessmen who made this country great. Some of them no bigger than your thumb. Nowadays you drive down the main street of Anytown, USA and you'll see these little fellers standing on street corners cradling their tiny guns and eating porridge out of thimbles. Frankly, it makes me want to cry. Or something. Diane, to the best of my knowledge I have not attended any drag shows. They looked pretty darn real to me.

I think trash lashes would be a big hit--with recycling being so big. Great piece--how you acquired so many pairs of these is concerning to me. Are you sure you havent been going to drag shows?

An enormous increase is always good, and it's wonderful that you recognize it. I march for that all the time. An enormous increase in nail and piercing jobs is especially crucial due to the threatened extinction of such shops due to their overpopulation. Of course, they went beyond enormous increase to hyper-zappola. It could be worse.

Nancy, if only 3% of the population was as sensitive as you are to the needs of our youth we could be seeing an enormous increase in something. And yes, application is a problem but also a potential source of jobs. If we had a WPA program we could putting kids to work immediately creating not just jobs for the eyelash applicators but also the nailers and piercers of the future this country so desperately needs.

Yes, it would be slow in this economy, but anything providing false eyelashes for disadvantaged youth absolutely must be saved. When I think how different my own youth would have been if only.... I hope the museum offers classes by beauty operators to help the takers recipients learn application techniques in case they do not come to some people naturally.

Thanks Nancy. Fundraising has been slow of late but we're hoping to get some grant money from the Lady Gaga Fund which helps provide false eyelashes for disadvantaged youth. We can really turn these kids lives around if we just apply the lash a little more often.

This takes it, David. What a modestly demure and elegant creation. So glad you mentioned it on Diane's blog.

Thanks Angie. Of course, the displays won't be so primitive once the grant money comes through. The really great thing is the whole museum fits comfortably into a phone booth
