Time to go underground though it's difficult to see down there. From now on I shall be known only as He Who Scrapbooks with Wolves.

Clearly, as postal artists our task is to get to the bottom of this vast network of interlocking conspiracies. We're going to need more rubber cement and several pots of coffee.

But here's the deal: the mail manglers are actually adding Integrity of the Surface, that commodity so prized in much of modern art. A secret deal between the US Postal Service and the Atlanta MOMA has insured that each piece of mail will be "partially destroyed" in order to make it look "old, withered, distressed or funked up." Words straight from the Manual of Postal Manipulation. You read it here first.

Expansion :-)

Here, Africa, where everything takes eons to reach, I have knighted The Bottom of the World. If things are not put in envelopes, there is creature with well bred teeth that attacks all surfaces.  Thats what it looks like anyway. A Mail Mangler. I dont know if it boards at Atlanta or is African, but it sure does not like mail art surface integrity.

Cheryl, can you expand on that? I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

Try the bottom of the world for surface integrity. Its a no show.

sigh....It seems like a losing battle especially when the tide washes up each day with another catch of nothing mail...but today among the detritus of commerce, Arty Em's stand out Valentine with three (count 'em) ATCs plus friend Jaye's lovely rendering of Helena Bonham Carter at the Golden Globes (film at eleven).

thank you so much, Angie for all your wonderful comments....
