As Decca Records told the Beatles in 1962, "Guitar groups are on their way out", and so...

(Repititions no 18). John & Paul and George went out and bought violas, met up with Ringo, and rock'n'roll was never the same thereafter

I suppose so.

To my way of thinking, real, live rock is mainly based on people singing and playing instruments, not faffing about on computers and things like that. And guitars were, are, and always will be, central to that process. Think 'garage rock', not 'here I al in my bedroom phutzing around with some computer programme rock;'

Wait. Guitar groups are on their way in??

Comment by Valentine Mark Herman on January 12, 2015 at 4:50am

Of course not. Since the electric guitar was 'properly' invented (I'm  talking Gibson and Fender in the mid to late 1950's, not earlier crude attempts at electrifying an accoustic) semi- and solid bodied electric guitars have been the stable base of r'n'r isntrumentation 66 and long may it remain that way.

I'm not a rascal, Linda, but Buddy is.

Especially when he pens lyrics like this,

"The little things you say and do,

Make me want to be with you."

One, or both of us willl come buy your place about 8 on Saturday night , and we can go for an ice cream soda.

"All of my love,

All of my kissin'

You don't know what you've been a-missin'

Dum-dee-dee-dum

Oh boy!

Erni: I wish I'd seen them in Hamburg in the early 60's. It seems that they were good then.

Linda: 'Oh Boy!' You got it. Now 'Rave On'
