And how old are we that we remember placing nails into WOODEN spools that mama

had finished the thread? And then we sat for many quiet hours "knitting" snakes and

    other fun things :-)

Ah, yes, Mim...I remember it well :-)

    Have fun with grandgal!

( my wooden spool takes only thin string, hole is small...

Heleen sent a nice LARGE plastic thingie)

    Hi Mim,

Got your postcard. Thanks! 'loved hearing about the floating parking and bike lanes. In fact, I just watched this video.

    http://www.wric.com/news/national/new-bike-lanes-and-floating-parki...

Of course, there's confusion. It's new! It's like when they suddenly mark a part of the street only for cars, that's confusing because it's new. I wonder if bicycle tours are offered in Richmond. That would be fun.

    Happy Birthday MIM!

Mim - question: an IUOMA member wants to join an add and pass group. For some reason, I can’t remember, find, or figure out how - I have searched the IUOMA “how-to-faqs” which sent me to a non-existing yahoo page. Googled and nothing there except bouncing me back and forth. I thought maybe you would know.
  • Fast Eyes

Thanks Mim - I’ll tell her.

Hi Mim--I'll be sending Patricia a tea time mail art postcard.

  • Kayenderes

Thank you so for your ideas.  I would need punch to make such a neat round circle.  My cutting skills with scissor is bad. But, I try, shakie hand and all.   Lets me and you swap and you can send me a few pre cut and sizes.   thank you so.

  • Kayenderes

Can you tell me what kind of glue you use to hold all together.?  Akwe: Kon  in Mohawk   (A-Gway 0 goln) means "All of Us.

Seasons' greetings, Mim. Thanks for the info re: Mail Art at the Smithsonian. You and others can view the contents at   https://www.aaa.si.edu/exhibitions/pushing-the-envelope

See side-bar "Contents of the Exhibition". There are about 10 items per content area. FYI: It takes a few seconds for each content area to load. We are fortunate to have a portion John Held Jr's archives in the Smithsonian's Archives of American Art.

Wrestled most of the day trying to celebrate your Snail.Think Now I was having local server problems. Also a struggle to enter your name without being corrected post facto to Kim or on or whatever. had proofread comment and it seemed to be Mim’s until it was posted as Mom’s ,sigh.

  • Ann Golden

Great. it has been unprecedented statewide heat ave with rolling power outages  and internet service interruptions ,so I could not reply earlier. Now we are having dramatic lightening and thunder storms that I actually like. They  are a rarity here.Unfortunately, probably leading to wildfires that might result in the kind of air pollution we had the last 2 years during the fire season. At one point we had the dirtiest air in the world.Have been spoiled for much of my lingering having relatively clean or washed by ocean breezes and winds. I like your Sunday morning creations.

Mim, thanks for your comment! Just saw it. Yes, here in Hong Kong we're experiencing the third wave of the pandemic. The number of infections has been decreasing though, which is a good news. I am new to mail art. Really excited to be part of the community.

    All the best!

  • Motherbrando

thank you for the kind words... etc I'm glad my cards are well recv'd cant wait for the reciprocal post.

  • Hannah Yonana

I'm excited to find out there's so many Richmond based mail artists! I would love to exchange with anyone in the area :+)

  • Heather Wilkie (paganfrog)

Hello Mim. Im pleased the art mail arrived to you. I did post that i didnt want anymore add n passes, at that time i had a lot accumilate with me and it took me some time to get them outgoing to interested parties. im not actively seeking to be an add n passer, but if one sneaks in somehow i will add to it and send onwards.

i much prefer the atc jams and deco swap bookies. i like to swap atcs postcards etc. and i have my own altered books and visual art journals at home to dip into.

do let me know if atc jams arent really your thing,i can easily and happily send occasional art mail that you dont need to forward on.
